Lest we Forget - Remembrance 2024

In a poignant and historic display of respect and resilience, on Sunday 10 November 2024 at the Cenotaph, the Blesma Veterans were on Parade with their families to honour their fallen comrades. This year’s event highlighted both the sacrifices of our servicemen and women and the ongoing determination of those who have served, showcasing the strength of the veteran community and their commitment to one another.


Organised by The Royal British Legion, the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association (Blesma) veterans of all ages, many of whom have experienced life-changing injuries, used Rascal 388XL mobility scooters to navigate the route. These scooters are not only tools of independence for many of the participants, but they also symbolise the enduring spirit of those who have given so much in service to their country.


"We are honored to provide mobility solutions that ensure veterans, regardless of their physical abilities, can participate in this significant event," said Elaine Leighton, Head of Charity Partnerships at Electric Mobility. "The mobility scooters allow veterans to take part in the parade, proudly standing shoulder to shoulder as they pay tribute to their fellow servicemen and women. This event represents their ongoing resilience and the support of the wider community ensuring that their voices and stories are not overlooked."


Elaine continues, "Our mobility scooters are designed to provide comfort, independence, and dignity, and we are humbled to see them play a role in honouring our veterans this year and we are proud to support Blesma."


The 2024 Cenotaph Parade is an inspiring reminder of the ongoing commitment of our veterans to one another, and a powerful acknowledgment of their courage and sacrifices. The use of mobility scooters allows even more veterans to be a part of this solemn occasion, ensuring that their voices and stories are not overlooked.
